Gil Ramos
Softball Trainer
Gil Ramos has dedicated more than two decades to developing and mentoring athletes
in fastpitch softball, combining a lifetime of multi-sport experience with a passion for
teaching. A lifelong student of athletics, Gil’s background spans Football, Baseball,
Wrestling, Soccer, Basketball, Track & Field, and Martial Arts. As a second-degree black
belt in Lima Lama with over 30 years of practice and instruction, as well as training in
Karate, Aikido, Boxing, and Kickboxing, Gil brings a unique, discipline-driven approach
to coaching. His athletic foundation as a baseball catcher and third baseman evolved
into a deep commitment to coaching once his daughters began playing. Over the years,
he has coached at multiple levels—including recreation, travel ball, and high
school—earning league championships, CIF appearances, and a strong reputation for
developing players both athletically and personally.
With more than 23 years of coaching experience, Gil founded California Rogue
Fastpitch in 2022, a competitive travel ball organization built on the principles of skill
development, teamwork, and community impact. In 2024, he expanded his vision by
creating Rogue Athletics Unlimited Softball Academy, which hosts elite clinics
featuring UCLA and other collegiate athletes throughout the San Gabriel Valley. Beyond
the field, Gil emphasizes giving back—organizing toy drives, meal prep programs, and
equipment donations to support families and communities in need. As a sports
performance coach specializing in hitting, catching, pitching, and defensive training, Gil
continues to inspire and shape the next generation of softball players, empowering
young athletes ages 6–19 to reach their full potential.
